Comparison of dental fees in Europe

Whereas it was assumed until very recently that national health systems were immune to European influences,more and more voices can now be heard drawing attention to the growing importance of the European dimension. Although the organization and structure of inpatient and outpatient health care in the countries of Europe is well documented, the available information on dental provision is sparse.Price is one of the central determinants of the cost of dental treatment,patient demand, the spectrum of treatment offered by dental practices, and the standard of care.This contribution presents the results of an empirical project conducted in 1999 on the prices of dental treatments in Europe.
